The ACA welcomes experienced higher education professionals to submit proposals to present a Conference Session for the 2016 Annual Summit on September 29 -October 1, 2016 at the MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, TN.
These sessions are designed to engage participants in the implementation, challenges, and successes of engaged teaching and learning strategies. Participants should leave the Summit with a deeper understanding of the topic, a new network of colleagues, and resources for continuing their education.
Sessions will be catagorized by the following topics:
Teaching and Learning
Diversity and Internationalization
All sessions are alloted 45 minutes and it is recommended to limit your session to 30 minutes to allow for Q&A.
Proposals should reflect current work, recent finds, and/or new perspectives and include the following elements:
Session Abstract (limit 30 words): A brief description of your presentation to be used in the Summit program
Proposal Narrative (limit 2 pages): Address specifically a presentation agenda, including engagement strategies and specific learning objectives
Identify any co-presenter(s)
Applicants may submit multiple proposals. Priority will be given to proposals that link the work of multiple institutions and reflect diverse perspectives, innovations, disciplines, and programmatic areas. Criteria for evaluation will include topic, innovation, audience engagement, and program balance.
Only proposals submitted through the ACA website will be considered and must be received by June 1, 2016
The ACA will review submitted topics and may request additional information from selected individuals. All applicants will be notified via email of the status of their application.
