Who dares to teach must never cease to learn.”

John Cotton Dana

Faculty development is an essential element of institutional effectiveness in higher education. Through professional development, faculty members promote continual improvement across their careers as teachers, scholars, and mentors. They enhance their professional skills, cultivate professional dispositions, and grow through complex networks of collaborations with other colleagues. Through development opportunities, faculty are exposed to new ideas and innovations in their teaching and scholarship, they are encouraged to remain reflective practitioners, and they are drawn into diverse learning networks of academicians (on and across campuses) who share common purposes.

The ACA offers many opportunities to faculty members to cultivate excellence both in their teaching and their scholarship. Programs are specifically designed to meet the needs and challenges of faculty at ACA colleges and universities.
