Institutional membership in the Appalachian College Association is open to private, non-profit degree granting institutions located within or contiguous to Appalachian counties (as defined by the Appalachian Regional Commission). Members must offer degrees at the baccalaureate level (among others) and demonstrate primary commitment to teaching and learning. Institutional members of the ACA are eligible for all programs offered by the Association.
Affiliate membership in the Appalachian College Association is open to higher education institutions and organizations serving higher education who are not eligible for regular ACA membership but who share the vision and mission of the ACA. Affiliate members receive invitations to participate in ACA programs such as professional development webinars, Summit, the Teaching and Leadership Institute. Affiliate members qualify for reduced registration fees for ACA programs that charge a fee.
