About the ACA
The Appalachian College Association is a non-profit consortium of 33 private four-year liberal arts institutions located in the Appalachian mountains of Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The Association is governed by a board comprised of the presidents of all member institutions, and an executive committee with representation from presidents and chief academic officers.
As a consortium of independent colleges and universities, the Appalachian College Association provides resources for collaborative programs that exceed what a single campus can accomplish by enhancing our students' educational experiences and ensuring optimal use of institutional resources.
The Appalachian College Association supports its member colleges and universities in providing higher education opportunities for people who live in Appalachia. Programs offered by the Association are designed to promote cooperation and collaboration among member institutions, and to support scholarly and creative activities of faculty and students.
